Sparks-a-Rama Game Tips

SPARKY CRAWL
Try using adult elbow pads or stuffed socks wrapped around the knees as kneepads for the kids - those floors are hard!! Time the clubbers over a few heats and pick the fastest two/three to be your key players. Place those key players on each end of the line (which keeps then out of the center - the most crowded, confusing, and time consuming area). Once all your Sparkies make it across the line, send in one of your key players to get the pin or beanbag.

SPARKY SAFARI
Run all of the players and see who does the best at keeping the bag on their head and not losing time dropping it. Practice the bag transfer since this can cause major delays. Also, pick your best teams from both genders.

BALLOON BATTLE
PRACTICE! If they can be taught to keep it UP, and over someone else's area, you'll do well! Remember, intentional spiking is not allowed.

RABBIT HUNT
Keep moving! Teach them to not run into the balls on the floor since that is a common cause of getting out. When throwing, teach them to keep their feet out of the circle!! That makes a 2/4 child difference in number of rabbits that get put out.

SPARKY TRAIN
Run all children and find out which 5 do best together. Set a good pace for all five and stay hooked up! That will beat a faster but unhooked group that trips/comes apart.

BALLOON POP
Pick out who will actually touch it since not all kids have to. Then work on positions to give you the best times. Be sure to teach them to pop it in the correct triangle!

KNOCK IT OVER
New optional game added by Awana Clubs International, this region has not added them to the event this year. Since it is a possible addition for 2004, lots of practice will be essential to success. Pay close attention to the 12-foot hash mark since crossing it will result in disqualification.

BEAN BAG IN AND OUT

Best wishes to each team and make sure to have fun!!!
