9-20-2003 Clarification

Sparks-a-Rama Rule Clarifications:

  1. Cubbies may not be used on Sparks teams!
  2. Balloon Battle - Spiking is not permitted.

Truth & Training (3rd-6th grade) Rule Clarifications:

  1. Bean Bag Relay - Game Leader's hand may touch the floor going around own pin.
  2. Balloon Relay - Participants may only play once.
  3. Marathon Race - Both boys and girls run six laps.
  4. Bean Bag Bonanza - Players must stay along the circle when playing, not line up behind one another.
  5. No more than 4 2nd grade Sparks may be moved up to AwanaGames (3rd-6th grade).  Where possible, Sparks moving up to the AwanaGames should not have competed in both Sparks-a-Rama and the AwanaGames meets.

Scoring Pin clarification: During an event where scoring pins are being used, if a team member knocks over his or another team’s scoring pin—that team may be disqualified.  If for some reason a team’s scoring pin has been removed by an action other than their own, they should complete the game and proceed as if the scoring pin was in its proper position.  It is the circle director’s sole discretion as to whether or not the team adequately finished the event or was impaired from doing so.

The rulebook does NOT show the 5-foot hash marks on the Circle diagram on the last page of the book.  5-foot hash marks will be used.

Dress code note: Out of respect to our Christian brethren and for safety reasons, all participants must wear long pants (most Capri and sweat pants will be accepted).  This includes clubbers, coaches, scorekeepers, and other adults on the floor (female scorekeepers are allowed to wear skirts/dresses appropriate for a sporting event).
